Years ago, I discovered the power of having a strong eyebrow. I am a natural blonde, so I was not blessed with naturally full or dark eye brows. Truthfully this never bothered me up until maybe ten years ago. It was a random day when I was at the mall when I walked into a Sephora and purchased my first brow pencil. I was instantly hooked. I was not good at filing in my brows at the time, but seeing the impact it made on my face was amazing and (for lack of a better word…) life changing.
I am simple when it comes to makeup at this point in my life. I am a busy working-from-home mother, so I don’t have a ton of time to spend on my own makeup and get-ready routine in the morning. But for years, my one non-negotiable has been my eyebrows. I pretty much am never without even when I am just at home relaxing. It makes me feel better about myself, so you’d be hard pressed to find a time when I do not have my eyebrows penciled in.
What I have found to be the most important aspect to a good brow is to keep them natural-looking. I darken mine quite a bit but in years of practice I have found that the lighter strokes I do, the better they look. Here is a picture of how they usually look once I’ve penciled them in.
In my many, many years of filling in my brows I have tried so, so many different eyebrow pencils. Expensive, cheap, name brand, generic, you name it… I have tried it. The best one I have found is only $3 and truly, I love it. It lasts long, it’s cheap, and in my opinion it applies super well.
You can find the eyebrow pencil I swear by on Amazon here, on Target here, or on Ulta here. All websites sell this for $3. I use Neutral Brown and it’s the perfect color for me because I want my eyebrows to be many shades darker than my natural blonde color. If you’re interested in seeing how I do my eyebrows each day, you can watch my GRWM video here.
Let me know if you try the Elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil and what you think of it! Do you have a favorite eyebrow pencil?
