A makeup routine that would take me about five minutes took me about 20 minutes today because I had both of my kids with me. That’s not a problem, but I thought it was a good time to show how long it can take to do the simplest things with kids involved!
My youngest didn’t want to be put down, so I had to hold her the whole time which proved to be very difficult. Between trying to eat my air-drying hair and grabbing the shower curtain and makeup, it was not the easiest GRWM moment.
My oldest was not in the most independent of moods so she was playing a game on her tablet on the bathroom floor behind me, haha. To maintain the integrity and reality of the moment, I kept the original soundtrack on the video- baby grunts and preschooler narration included.
I love watching GRWM videos on Instagram and TikTok, but sometimes I feel envious of the mothers who are able to do these things uninterrupted. That’s just not reality for me as a stay at home mom. There are rarely points in the day when I don’t have at least one child with me, and most of the time I have both. So if I want to put makeup on, it’s multitasking to get it done or else it won’t get done.
PS- let’s all ignore the unfinished light in the back of the video! It was like that when we moved in because there isn’t enough space above it since the AC unit is above in the attic (some not-so-great DIY work from the previous owners) and we still haven’t made it a priority to get it fixed. It’s on the to-do list…

All makeup items I used are linked below in the order they are used!
- Maybelline Concealer – I used this to contour. This is one of the new products I purchased at Sephora recently. I really like the product, but a little bit goes a long way. I definitely used too much here, so next time I use it I know to use a lot less product.
- Shape Tape – I don’t love the texture of this product but it does well under my eyes. I use it sparingly on spots I feel I need more coverage.
- Flawless Filter – This was the first time I have used the Flawless Filter and I am officially obsessed. The color match is amazing, coverage is great, and it is so light that I barely felt like I had anything on my face all day.
- Huda Beauty – This baking powder was impressive. I think I’ll use more next time as I went in pretty lightly this time just to test out how it would look.
- Blending Puffs – These are well worth the money. At $5.99 for six puffs, it is such a great deal.
- Sephora Eyeliner – Loved this new eyeliner color. It was light enough to brighten my water line but not bright enough to look drastic.
- Elf Eyebrow Pencil – This has been my go-to eyebrow pencil for years now. It is affordable and great quality. I have tried so many eyebrow pencils and I just keep coming back to this one.
- Elf Blush – This putty blush is a new product I tried and it’s really nice! Because it’s a putty, a little goes a long way.
- Chubby Stick – This lip color is really beautiful. It’s a beautiful light red/maroon color and covers well.
- Eyelash Curler – An essential for someone like me who has very minimal eyelashes! I need all the help I can get in that area.
- Maneater Mascara – A classic for mascara. It can be a bit clumpy, so I will be trying a new mascara soon. I plan to try out a few different colors. I always use black but am thinking it would be nice to try out something new.
